Top tips for improving your self-care

Do what feels good

Self-care can be simple. Make time for small things that help you feel calmer, lighter, or more like yourself – whether that’s music, rest, creativity, or connection.

Care for the basics

Eating regularly, sleeping when you can, gentle movement, and personal care all support your emotional health, even if they don’t feel exciting.

Keep it realistic

Instead of big promises, choose small, do-able actions that you can return to – like a short walk, having a quiet cup of tea, or just stepping outside for some air.

Make it part of your day

Self-care works best when it fits into everyday life – take a break at lunchtime, a few deep breaths, or set up a calming end-of-day routine.

Rest is allowed

You don’t have to earn rest. Giving yourself space to slow down is a vital part of looking after your wellbeing. Pause occasionally and ask yourself “What do I need right now?”

Soothe, don’t numb

Distractions are human. When you can, balance scrolling with activities that leave you feeling more restored afterwards. Small steps, taken gently, still count.
